Yamaha Motorcycles R1

Yamaha Motorcycles Canada Ltd. is proud to announce the exciting details of the fourth generation “R1” supersport machine.

You're looking at our manifesto in metal - everything we've learned in 50 years of competition.

It begins with a third-generation, 998cc, liquid-cooled, short-stroke, 20-valve, in-line four-cylinder engine designed to make 180 horsepower power at a stratospheric 12,500 rpm. The shorter cylinder head is re-angled farther forward to 40 degrees, far enough forward to allow the main frame spars to go over the engine instead of around it.

That straighter load path makes the Deltabox V frame massively strong, even as it makes the bike narrow to better fit the rider. Together with its light, strong and long Controlled Fill die cast truss swingarm, all that power is deployed to the pavement with the help of a fully adjustable piggyback shock absorber.

Titanium exhaust with Yamaha's lightweight Exhaust Ultimate Powervalve (EXUP) is routed under the seat for greater mass centralization. 56 degrees of cornering clearance is a good thing too.

New, five-spoke wheels at both ends are light to spool up fast. Radial-mount forged calipers and 320mm discs provide outstanding braking performance for bending controllably into tight chicanes at the end of long, sixth-gear straights.

These are just some of the features that enable the Yamaha motorcycles YZF-R1 to blow the dust out of your synapses every time you hop on and twist the throttle.

The Yamaha motorcycles YZF-R1 is our ultimate expression, a perfect example of the mechanical beauty that flows when form is set free to truly express function.

3 Top Speed Honda Motorcycles

Honda motorcycles have always been known for their speed. Of the top five touring motorcycles with the top speed, Honda motorcycles make up three of them. Just because they have the top speed in the touring category, doesn't mean they are the fastest. These are only the ones with the top speed on the speedometer, not necessarily the fastest time for getting up to top speed.

1. VF 1000 F 2 1987

These Honda motorcycles were touring bikes and had top speeds of 144.2 miles per hour. With V4 engines and 100 horsepower at 9500 rotations per minute, it's easy to see why these Honda motorcycles have the top speed. They have a liquid cooling system and a chain type final drive transmission. They weigh 610 pounds with all fluids included. These Honda motorcycles had dual disc front brakes and single disc rear brakes. A fuel capacity of 6.08 gallons make this a good motorcycle to take a long ride on. Even with all that speed behind it, on the consumer rating, these Honda motorcycles only scored 64.5 out of 100.

2. VF 1000 F 2 1986

These Honda motorcycles faired slightly better in the consumer ratings with a score of 70.5 out of 100. The specifications are much the same as the 1987 model. These Honda motorcycles had a Double Overhead Cam fuel control the same as the 1987 model . As far as the specifications are concerned, the 1987 and the 1986 Honda motorcycles are exactly the same. Where the main difference seems to be is in the design. In the design and look, the 1986 model scored more then 15 points higher then the 1987 model and more then 6 points better then the 1987 model in racing track abilities. In repair and maintenance costs, the 1986 model scored 18 points better. The only thing the 1987 model did better in was its touring capabilities in which the 1987 model scored 2.3 points better then the 1986 model.

3. ST 1100 Pan-European STD and CBS-ABS with TCS 2000

These Honda motorcycles had a top speed of 142.3 miles per hour. They scored better then the VF 1000 F 2 models making 79.9 out of 100. These Honda motorcycles also had V4 engines. They had 100 horsepower at 7500 rotations per minute. This model had an electric starter, liquid cooling system, and a 5-speed gearbox. Its dry weight is 632.7 pounds, and a seat height of 31.5 inches. The front brakes are dual disc while the rear brakes are single disc. The colors include red or blue. This was truly a touring motorcycle. Its fuel tank had a capacity for 7.4 gallons. For reliability and problem free driving, these Honda motorcycles scored 93. Its off road capabilities was only a 39.2, however, this was the only thing that these Honda motorcycles scored less then average when compared to other touring motorcycles. These Honda motorcycles made a 96.1 in their touring capabilities, the average touring capabilities for other touring bikes was 78.6.

Tips On Riding Motorcycles

Balancing on two wheels as you make your way around corners is an inherently precarious thing, and so it's vital you keep the condition of the road ahead in mind when you're out and about, and are aware of the dangers you're likely to encounter in certain situations and environments.Obviously you're going to experience significantly reduced levels of grip in the wet, and so your motorcycles riding should be adjusted to suit. Slow down; increase the distance between yourself and the vehicle in front; position your body more to the inside around corners (thus keeping the motorcycles or scooters more upright, with less stress on its tyre's contact patches); and avoid super slippery stuff like the plague - like metal grates, white line markings, cat's eyes and crack sealant. In built-up areas when it's raining, especially in the peak hours or around lunch time, watch out for hapless pedestrian darting across the road, and be particularly careful when it's just started raining after a prolonged dry spell - ie when road grime has had a chance to build up, and hasn't yet been washed away by the downpour.

Spilled diesel, petrol or oil are also things to look out for when riding motorcycles, but they're often not easy to pick up before it's too late. Any rainbow-coloured pools on the road need to be given a wide berth, and a decent build-up of oil can make water bead on top of it in the wet. Sometimes a vehicle with a loose fuel cap will leave a long trail of spilt fuel behind it - fortunately this is easier to pick up, so adjust your line to suit, but in general be wary of any discolouration on the road in front of you. Also be aware of where you're more likely to encounter these slippery characters - like at busy intersections, in industrial estates and on petrol station forecourts. When stopping at particularly slippery intersections, pull up either to the left or right of your lane, avoiding the oily centre, and put down whatever foot falls to the outside of the lane.Loose gravel can pose a major headache too, and this is often a problem when a road has been recently re-sealed. Learn to scan the surface of the road ahead. You can learn to spot a dubious patch pretty effectively, and use your ears too - a road with loose stuff will have a different sound, as the loose bits get picked up by your tyres and are then flung against your guards. Finally, take care if you're riding motorcycles anywhere near tram or light rail tracks. Ride between the tracks and don't cross them on too shallow an angle - especially when it's wet, when rubber and cold steel are a particularly bad combination. The rule of thumb here is don't be paranoid, just be aware - with a trained eye and an informed mind you will be able to effectively avoid the vast majority of road surface nasties as they crop up.

I Want to Start a Motorcycle Detailing Business

If you are one who loves motorcycles you might consider starting a small business that has to do with motorcycle detailing. You can run this business from your home and put all the equipment you need inside of a trailer, a van or the back of a pickup truck and then travel to the customer’s home or business to detailer their motorcycles.

It is amazing how much people will pay you to detailer motorcycles. Many people have invested 20 and $30,000 in their Harley Davidson's. The best way to get motorcycle detailing customers is to go down to the local Harley Davidson shop and asked them if you could put a few flyers on their counter and ask the person in the motorcycle shop if they will spread your name around. If you do a good job they will continue to refer you and so will the people whose motorcycles you have detailed.

Sometimes Harley Davidson dealers take in trades and they might call you to detail those trade-ins so they can put them inside the showroom. Detailing high-end motorcycles can be there are rewarded and you could meet some really exceptional people. You would be surprised how many wealthy individuals, business owners and entertainers ride Harley-Davidson motorcycles.

I have been in the auto detailing business for over 27 years, I am not want to drop names, but let's just say that I have got to work for some very influential people in this country and some of the top stars too. If you love motorcycles and want to start a business of your own, then maybe you should consider motorcycle detailing as your next venture. Consider this 2006.
